What is this? Some dried figs from Turkey may have small amounts of mold poisons called aflatoxins. These poisons can be harmful if eaten a lot over time.
What's happening? Norway found too much of these poisons in organic dried figs from Turkey. The country stopped these figs at the border.
Does this affect me? If you bought dried figs from Turkey recently, check the package. Only some batches are affected.
What should I do? Stop eating the figs if you have them. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you feel unwell after eating them.
