What is this? Some groundnuts (peanuts) from Argentina may have tiny amounts of mold poisons called aflatoxins. These can be harmful if eaten a lot over time.
What's happening? The Dutch food safety team found too much aflatoxin in some peanut shipments from Argentina. They stopped these nuts from entering the country.
Does this affect me? If you bought peanuts or peanut snacks recently, check the package. Only some batches from Argentina are involved.
What should I do? If you are worried, ask your pharmacist or doctor before eating these peanuts. Throw away any peanuts that look old or smell bad.
