What is this? Aflatoxins are harmful substances made by moulds. They can grow on pistachios if stored badly.
What's happening? Some pistachio kernels from the United States, sent from Türkiye, had too much aflatoxin. Greece stopped them at the border.
Does this affect me? Only if you bought these pistachios. Most people are not at risk.
What should I do? Throw them away. If you feel unwell, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
