What is this? Pistachio nuts may have tiny, invisible mould poisons called aflatoxins. These can make people very ill if eaten in large amounts.
What's happening? Greece stopped some pistachios from the United States at the border because tests found too much aflatoxin.
Does this affect me? If you bought pistachios in Greece, check the package. Only some batches are affected.
What should I do? Do not eat the nuts if you are unsure. Ask your pharmacist or doctor if you feel unwell.
