What is this? Aflatoxins are harmful substances made by moulds. They can sometimes be found in nuts like hazelnuts.
What's happening? Some hazelnuts with shells from Georgia had too much aflatoxin. Italy stopped these nuts at the border.
Does this affect me? Only if you bought these hazelnuts in Italy. Most people are not at risk.
What should I do? If you have these hazelnuts, throw them away. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you feel unwell.
