What is this? Cowpeas (called Augenbohne in German) are beans grown for food. Some batches from Myanmar and Türkiye have too much pesticide left on them.
What's happening? Tests found two pesticides, carbaryl and chlorpyrifos, that should not be there. These beans were sent to several EU countries.
Does this affect me? If you bought cowpeas from Myanmar or Türkiye, you might have some at home.
What should I do? Stop eating them and ask your pharmacist or doctor if you feel unwell.
