What is this? Some caramelised nuts with sesame seeds may have a small amount of a chemical called ethylene oxide. This is a pesticide that should not be in food.
What's happening? Food safety officers found ethylene oxide in these nuts. The nuts were made in Greece but used sesame seeds from Nigeria. They were sent out from Turkey.
Does this affect me? This recall covers nuts sold in Finland, Croatia, Greece, Hungary, Lithuania, and Romania. If you bought these nuts, you may have some at home.
What should I do? Do not eat the nuts. Return them to the shop or throw them away. If you feel unwell, ask your pharmacist or doctor.
