What is this? Sesame seeds with their outer shell removed may contain a chemical called ethylene oxide. This chemical is sometimes used to kill germs.
What's happening? Some hulled sesame seeds from India have too much ethylene oxide. These seeds were sold in the Netherlands, Belgium, Finland, and Germany.
