What is this? Tahini is a paste made from sesame seeds. Some batches may have a small amount of a chemical called ethylene oxide.
What's happening? Belgium and the Netherlands found ethylene oxide in some tahini from India. This is not safe for people to eat.
Does this affect me? If you bought tahini from India, you might have this batch. Check the package or store where you bought it.
What should I do? Stop eating the tahini. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you feel unwell. Return it to the store for a refund.
