What is this? Golden flax seeds are small brown seeds that can be eaten raw or cooked. They may contain a natural chemical called hydrogen cyanide (HCN) in very small amounts.
What's happening? Some golden flax seeds from Italy and Kazakhstan have too much HCN. This makes them unsafe to eat.
