What is this? Some groundnuts (peanuts) from the USA may have mold toxins called aflatoxins. These can be harmful if eaten a lot.
What's happening? The Dutch food safety board found too much aflatoxin in groundnuts from the USA. They stopped these nuts from entering the country.
Does this affect me? If you bought groundnuts or peanut products recently, check where they came from. Only USA nuts may be affected.
What should I do? Throw away any USA groundnuts or peanut products you have. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you feel sick after eating them.
