What is this? Dried figs may contain a natural mold toxin called ochratoxin A. Too much can be harmful.
What's happening? Some dried figs from Türkiye were found to have too much of this toxin. They were stopped at the Dutch border.
Does this affect me? If you bought dried figs from Türkiye recently, check the package. You may have some at home.
What should I do? Do not eat them. Ask your pharmacist or doctor if you feel unwell after eating them.
