What is this? Some lemons from Türkiye have small amounts of two pesticides called prochloraz and chlorpyrifos-methyl. These are not allowed in lemons sold in the EU.
What's happening? Bulgaria stopped lemons with these pesticides at the border. They were sent back to Türkiye.
Does this affect me? Only if you bought lemons from Türkiye recently. Most lemons in shops are safe.
What should I do? If you have lemons from Türkiye, throw them away or return them. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you feel unwell after eating them.
