What is this? Some Basmati white rice from Pakistan has small amounts of a pesticide called chlorpyrifos. This pesticide is not allowed in the EU.
What's happening? A batch of this rice was stopped at the border because it had the wrong pesticide. It never reached stores in Cyprus.
Does this affect me? No. The rice was rejected, so it did not go on sale. You cannot buy it.
