What is this? Sunflower cake is a food for farm animals made from sunflower seeds. It can sometimes carry harmful bacteria called Salmonella.
What's happening? Some sunflower cake from Ukraine was found to have Salmonella. Poland stopped it at the border.
Does this affect me? If you feed animals, check any sunflower cake you have. People are not at risk from eating meat or eggs from healthy animals.
What should I do? Ask your vet or doctor if you are worried. Do not feed any recalled batches to animals.
