- The product contains excessive amounts of individual polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) (measured values; acenaphthylene: 2.0 mg/kg, fluoranthene: 0.8 mg/kg, naphthalene: 1.4 mg/kg, pyren: 7.7 mg/kg and benzo[a]pyrene 40 ppb). Some PAHs are carcinogenic. Benzo(a)pyrene is a carcinogenic PAH. Naphthalene is a carcinogenic substance for which a safe level cannot be established.

What is this? This is tattoo ink made by Intenze. It has too much of some harmful chemicals called polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs).
What's happening? Tests show the ink has high levels of PAHs. Some of these can cause cancer. One called benzo[a]pyrene is known to cause cancer.
Does this affect me? If you got a tattoo with this ink in Sweden, you may be at risk.
What should I do? Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you used this ink. Do not use any more of this ink.
