What is this? Aflatoxins are harmful substances made by moulds. They can grow on pistachios if not stored properly.
What's happening? Some pistachio kernels from the United States, sent through Türkiye, had too much aflatoxin. Germany stopped these at the border.
Does this affect me? Only if you bought these pistachios in Germany. Most safe pistachios are already sold.
