What is this? This is about a food label mix-up. Italian cured ham names were used on ham that did not come from the protected places.
What's happening? France sold ham with Italian protected names but it did not meet the rules. Italy reported this to the EU.
Does this affect me? Only if you bought ham in France labeled as “Prosciutto di San Daniele” or “Prosciutto di Parma.” Most people are not affected.
