What is this? Dried figs from Spain may have a small amount of a natural mold poison called tenuazonic acid. The bags also may not show all the right food labels.
What's happening? Germany told stores to stop selling these dried figs. The product came through the Netherlands first.
Does this affect me? If you bought dried figs with the brand “getrocknete Feigen,” check the bag. This notice is for Germany only.
What should I do? Do not eat the figs. Ask your pharmacist or doctor if you feel unwell after eating them.
